ABOUT HSD

Huma Sulaiman Design is an award-winning multidisciplinary design studio specializing in Interior Architecture, Interior Design, and Product Design. The studio is led by Principal Designer Huma Sulaiman, a Bangladeshi American designer and curator whose practice extends from the creation of highly considered interiors to the design and curation of objects, art, and decorative arts.

 

Based in Southern California, HSD operates between Laguna Beach and West Hollywood, with projects spanning the United States. Shaped by a lifetime of travel, Huma’s creative perspective is deeply rooted in a fascination with culture, history, architecture, craftsmanship, and the enduring relationship between objects and the spaces they inhabit.

 

Since its founding in 2011, HSD has developed a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial projects defined by a highly curated approach to material, texture, and form. The studio’s work has been featured in Architectural Digest, Vogue, C Magazine, Angeleno, Acumen, LUXE Interiors + Design, CA Home + Design, and Interior Design Magazine, among others. 

 

Its accolades include the LUXE RED Award for Residential Excellence in 2024 and 2019, California Home + Design Awards 2022 and 2023, Top Interior Designer in O.C. recognition by ICONIC magazine in 2023, Interior Design Magazine’s Women in Design, and most recently, Huma Sulaiman has been named “Statement Maker” by LUXE magazine in 2026.

 

In 2025, Huma Sulaiman unveiled Thús Huma, a residential gallery in West Hollywood, California, where contemporary design, global decorative arts, art, and artisanal craftsmanship converge within an immersive residential setting. Conceived as an extension of her design practice, Thús Huma reflects Huma’s belief that the most meaningful spaces are shaped through discovery, collecting, and the layering of stories.
